Old World Inspiration in Carmel, California

This mural, completed in 2011, and measuring a petite 4 ft x 12 ft, inhabits a library ceiling in a private home in Carmel. The characters mostly are related to art, inspiration, and learning. (Scroll down for more detailed images.) The central figures are Athena, delivering the reins of Pegasus to the muses Clio and Terpsichore. At one end, Atlas holds up the world for Urania to measure; at the other, Luna rides across the moon. Other muses, thinkers, and supporters fill this small but dynamic piece.
